Caring for babies in early childhood settings requires particular attention to establishing a supportive learning environment that is responsive to the needs of young children. Consideration of how infants learn is essential, as experiences influence the stimulation of brain development and positive, secure attachments. This practical session will enhance daily practice and programming by developing ideas to establish stimulating environments and facilitate meaningful interactions. This session will explore:

  • Establishing a stimulating environment that facilitates infants growth and development
  • Practical ideas for creating sensory play spaces and attention to aesthetics
  • Strategies to develop trusting relationships with infants and families
  • Interactions and routines
  • Inviting play spaces, resources and equipment
  • Safety and hygiene
