Using Images to Document Learning

Event date:
March 27, 2008
10:30 amto1:30 pm

Presented by Lady Gowrie Melbourne

Photography and digital imagery is an authentic avenue to document children's learning. Images can in a sense be another set of eyes, building a greater image of the child and supporting the development of a rich program. A picture tells a thousand words. This session looks at practical ways to utilise images to document children's learning and to simplify evidence collection through the use of well organised systems and clear priorities.

This session will explore:

  • Using digital images to strengthen programming and evidence collection
  • Sustaining children's learning through the use of images
  • Supporting a continuum of learning
  • Organising systems that help to distil information, keeping quality not quantity
  • Consideration of child protection and privacy
